For those who come of age in the 1980s in an era of consumerism and homogenous globalization, elegant, Indiana Jones was a kind of idol. Back to a time in the jungles of South America and the pyramids of Egypt were truly a world away, the Indiana Jones trilogy excited in us a sense of adventure rarely seen before or after.
The popularity of the Indiana Jones movies come not only from the fact that they were directed and acted by some of theThe greatest talent of Hollywood at that time, but also the fact that films were the classic adventures. Epics were swashbuckling impregnated find the ideal mix of adventure, intrigue and mystery, myth and mysticism.
This formula was clearly a success. The first Indiana Jones movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark, the highest grossing film of 1981 and was nominated for eight Academy Awards (which won four). The next two installments, Temple of Doom and The LastCrusade, is almost as good, everyone wins an Oscar and grossing hundreds of millions of dollars.
Since 1989, but everything was still in front at the Indy. Despite the regular practice of fourth movie, there was no progress in years. Rumors and rumors surrounding plans for the fourth Indiana Jones film since 1995, when Last Crusade writer Jeffrey Boam asked to write a script.
Since then, several writers and directors have discussed the project –including Chris Columbus (Home Alone), M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) and Frank Darabont The Shawshank Redemption) (- without success.
Finally, however, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford on a script by David Koepp (Spider-Man has War of the Worlds), written acceptance. In July 2006, Spielberg and Koepp is adjusted in the script before pre-production expected to begin in early 2007.
The issue raised repeatedly by fans of the series inthe coming years is: Will it be possible to restart the magic of the original trilogy? Hollywood has come since the 1980s, and the public to demand a big budget CGI moves and dazzling visual effects. Despite winning the Academy Award for visual effects with Temple of Doom, the appeal of the Indiana Jones movies was never in their special effects. In fact, the Temple of Doom – by Lucas and Steven Spielberg was admitted as a visual effects-heavy of the trilogy – thevery disappointing box office performance of the three.
The biggest concern is, however, the age of Harrison Ford. Already in his 40 years in search of the Lost Ark, Ford, at least 65 years old when he started filming the fourth film. Even with the use of makeup, camera tricks and stunts, as may be possible to remain faithful to the original trilogy, when the star is old enough to receive a pension?
Despite these concerns, but one thing is certain. Come the launch date a few yearsFrom now on we will see a surge in sales of fleece and whips. Like old enough to qualify for a bus pass, but there's something about Indiana Jones that makes the child in us all.
